Implicit in the earning of the ASE (Accredited System Engineer) certification is that the candidates have apprentice knowledge of design, support and integrate platform, operating system, storage, network and option components to solve business needs.

What are the compulsory exams to earn credit towards this certification?
You need to do the HP exam(s) required to earn ASE certification. Because there are different tracks in the certification, there can be different exams for the different tracks. For example:

The exam that is required is the ASE - HP OpenView Application Management - UNIX [2005] track is the HP HP0-345 HP OpenView Operations (OVO) II 8.x UNIX exam.

The exam that is required is the ASE - ProCurve Networking [2005] track is the HP HP0-790 HP ProCurve Routing Switch Essentials v5.21 exam.

The exam that is required is the ASE - HP StorageWorks Nearline Storage track is the HP HP0-771 Designing & Implementing HP Enterprise Backup Solutions exam.
In preparation for this exam candidates are advised to also do the training course Designing for HP Solutions (DHPS). (Please note that the training course is a recommendation.) This training course is available from HP Bootcamp.

What can be done in terms of Recertification for ASE?
The certification validity period is indefinitely years. Recertification will thus not be required.

The candidates must have passed entry level certification for this certification as this specific certification requires that candidates have 6 to 12 months experience design, support and integrate platform, operating system, storage, network and option components to solve business needs.
